Saidi - Caine dance
The caine dance is a powerfull, earth bound folk dance from southern Egypt.Originally it is danced by men which are using bamboo caines and use them in manner to show playful fights.
As women take the caine it gets coquettisch.
Both the character as well as the costume decides between folk and cairo caine dance. The earth bound folk caine dance is the traditional style. In comparison to that the cairo style is more a show dance.
The cairo and the folk style both express energy which is breath taking. For the spectators it often seems to be a mirical that the caine or multiple caines makes it back to the hand(s) of the dancer. The dance is powerfull and thrilling.
